The name of this village has brought many interpretations: “ourche duval” (of the valley), “ruse val” or “valley of snakes”. Originally this village was not a religious center; however, it has been converted into a temple to worships the Orcs. Today this village is known for hosting numerous events, festivals and parades.

The most popular festival in orcival is the Fairmountain Tour, hosted by the Archduke Luisito de Pizan. The highlight of this tour is the Fairmountain Cathedral, the tallest building in all of Spain. Other highlights include the el Chorrillo Church, the Moorish Barracks and the fortress of Cerro Picudo. The royal couple, Princesses Beatrix and Maria, are regularly honored with a knighthood ceremony held at the foot of Montalcino Hill.

The village also offers a festival that features traditional French food, live music, masked dancers and fireworks.

Tourists who want to visit this town during the orcival should make it a point to go to les Soldats de Villers-sur-Mer which is a whale watching attraction within the same area. The festival is celebrated by the Orcs and their allies and takes place throughout the month of October/ November. The festivities feature an array of duets and performances by local artists. Some of these shows include the performance of a team called the Duet of Versailles, and a play by the stage name of Amour-de-lis.
