New York Yankees sign slugger Giancarlo Stanton to $325m deal
On Friday, the reigning National League MVP agreed to a deal with the New York Yankees that will make him the highest-paid position player in Major League Baseball history. Sources say that Stanton will receive a $25 million signing bonus, plus salaries of $25 million each year from 2019 through 2027. That means that Stanton’s new deal is worth a total of $325 million. Quinton de Kock has been named South Africa Cricketer of the Year. The 21-year-old was an integral part of the South African team that won the Cricket World Cup earlier this year, and currently leads the One Day International (ODI) rankings.
